Piwakaka (fantail)
The piwakawaka in Maori folklore has always been a herald of death, new life or a carrier of a spirit.
I have friends follow me about in fantail form all the time and know of people who have had a piwakawaka fly into their house and have lost a member of family in the weeks following.
A fantail flew into my room, a week later, I find out I'm pregnant.
What a blessing to do this tattoo. Thank you sister x.
